BBM Status: I'm really starting to grow fond of ELLE
Friend: ''Hey, my cousin works at ELLE, Asanda Sizani."
That text started a new love as i quickly made my way to google adn typed in the name: Asanda Sizani and that's where it all began ...
We always admire and blog about ''Fashionista's'' somewhere out there in this world, forgetting or neglecting to take a look within' the beauty of your own country.
Asanda Sizani previously worked for Drum Magazine and is now a Fashion Editor of the Best and Biggest selling Fashion Magazine in South Africa. She's from the Eastern Cape and that's where I'm based. This was also part of the reason why i decided to do a blog post on her, it's just another way to prove that one doesn't have to be born in the big cities to make it big. Small town girl, Asanda, moved to Cape Town and made it.
HOW I WISH I COULD HAVE HER JOB!!!!!!!!!
I love Asanda's style because it's abnormal, out of the ordinary. ''Normal'' and ''Oridnary'' are overrated terms so.....
It's brave and is a masterpiece.
It's through this lady's articles and style that her love for fashion is expressed and some way, some how, her strength is shown through this as well.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to meet this women. Actually, I'd go crazy if i met the whole ELLE Team. As a Fashion editor at ELLE Asanda does an AMAZING Job, i won't lie.
Asanda's pod is inspired by an oppidan, contemporary woman who adores Fashion, supports South african Brands and will ofcourse, make a bold statement wherever she is. The elements of her pod arrest the essence of who this woman is.
I read an article called ''Men who Inspire us'' and the man who inspires Asanda is Nthato mokgata AKA Spoek Mathambo.
So yes, I love this woman, she's Beautiful and Inspiring.
